We provide lump-sum, turnkey EPC services for both new furnace installations and upgrades. Using our integrated, in-house resources, we can perform complete detail engineering, procurement, fabrication and construction. Our experienced engineers can incorporate any process design requested by the customer and optimize the detail design to meet precise specifications and minimize energy consumption.
Building a superior furnace. The construction of a blast furnace leaves no margin for error. Every furnace must be designed and built to exacting specifications to ensure proper fit with the refractory lining. Our pressure vessel engineers use proven methods and specialized software to develop precise furnace designs. Key components are fabricated at our in-house shops under controlled conditions. Our welding and quality assurance group ensures our craftsmen use the best tools and processes to achieve our stringent quality and safety standards. Putting it all together. We can assemble blast furnaces piece-by-piece on the ground and raise them or perform in-air assembly, depending on the available space at the installation site and other factors. When ground assembly is the method of choice, we develop detailed plans for the heavy lift and the configuration of temporary supports, and then we select the best cranes, transporters and other equipment for the job. For in-air assembly, we've developed innovative rigging techniques so the work can be performed efficiently and safely.
With more than 60 locations worldwide, we have the resources to execute projects virtually anywhere, even under the most challenging conditions. We can quickly mobilize our people and equipment and procure the materials needed for virtually any work location. In areas that lack infrastructure, we establish off-site fabrication and assembly facilities and ship components to the installation site. And we direct hire and train local craftsmen whenever possible, providing a pool of skilled people who understand our tools and processes.
